What sabot are you shooting them with? My buddy's Endeavor shot moa with 250gr TEZ's with Harvester black crushed ribbed sabots and 120gr of BH 209 and CCI primers. My Pro Hunter shoots moa with the 250gr TMZ's with Yellow crushed ribbed sabots and a 105 gr of BH 209 and Win primers.

Right on. i won't be buying any BlackHorn 209. A friend has been out of town for months. Had breakfast with him yesterday and listened to his tail of woe. Seems like his Encore loved BlackHorn until it came time to shoot that huge 7x7 elk. Yep, it fizzled. It's back to Pyrodex for him.

What primer are you using with the BH? May want to try a different primer. When I first tried BH209 out of my Omega I couldn't get good groups either and that was with Winchester muzzleloading primers. I tried Remington STS primers and chazam! I never looked back after that. You may also want to try less powder. I shoot a 350 gr. FPB over 85 gr. of BH209. 85 grains had enought power to kill anything your going to shoot at muzzleloader distances.

When I do a bore with JB Bore Paste..

Start on a very clean bore. Then with a quality gun oil, oil the bore of the rifle. Now is when you take the bore paste and apply it to a cotton patch. This must be tight fitting. Apply a good dab of the paste, and kind of smear it around that patch. Then push down without stopping, and pull back up with out stopping. That is one stroke.

I do 20 strokes then change to a new patch and more paste. Usually 100 strokes is plenty to smooth things out and really clean the rifle. That bore after you clean out the bore paste will really shine.

I have never had JB Bore paste hurt any of my barrels. It removes fouling, crud, copper, lead, plastic, and all the other nasty things out of the bore. I do my rifles I shoot a lot about every six months. But on their follow up cleaning only give them 40 strokes.

I am using CCI primers. I talked to Thompson Center customer service and they told me I can do the JB Bore Paste, or shoot a box of lead bullets through it. If that does not work they want the barrel back. I am no expert, but I don't think this will fix it. The bore is so tight that the ramrod paint is coming off due to it bending so much while going down the bore. I can't even get a powerbelt down very well.

Many new TC barrels are rough and hard to load. i smooth out the bore using jeweler's rouge on tight fitting patches. After that the barrel loads much easier.

IMO: For the price that TC charges for their guns they sure could do a much better job on the bore.

i don't know what primer your friend was using, i will say with a hotter primer and a clean breech plug BH will go off without fail in any T/C inline rifle.it's possible he lives in a mild climate and was using a mild primer and then went to cold country to hunt elk and it did not fire.

I am using the MMP sabots that come with the Barnes Spit Fire TEZs.

The Jb's will work wonders, Sabotloader did 100 strokes down his very tight Triumph barrel and now can use mmp-24 sabots with no problem. i shot some full bore conicals out of mine and 30 strokes of JB/oil and it worked wonders.another thing is make sure you removed all that grease or whatever it is T/C puts in new barrels, it's a bear to remove it all.
