Sighting in new muzzleloader

my dad got me a TC Triumph for christmas this year and i wasn't sure what yardage i should have it shooting dead on at. im shooting 250 grain shockwave bullets. any help would be much appreciated

I don not shoot pointy bullets very often, but here is a ballistic table shooting a 250 SST with 100 grains of loose T7.
It is based on a 3" 'Point Blank Range' - so it at 100 yards it is about 2.5" high.

Remember this is just a mathematical estimate until you shoot it you do not know for sure.

Depends on how far out you plan on shooting. I usually either sight in to be dead on at 100 yards, or if I might have the chance for a long range shot, 2" high at 100. Sighting in 3" high at 100 yards is fine, you just need to remember you are hitting high and not aim high. I was a shotgun slug hunter for years, and with slugs my instincts tell me to aim high for a 100 yard shot. But that's just me...
