Default Trajectory Talk

Now I realize you have to shoot a rifle to know what the rifle really likes. However I have shoot alot of rifles over the years and normally a load of 100 grains of 3F BP and PRB shoots pretty well. So assuming I shoot a 50 and a 54 caliber PRB with 100 grains of 3F-BP. And a point blank range of 3" either above or below the line of sight. Where would you zero your rifle to attain that 3" point blank range shooting?? And how far out wolud I get with the PRB's and only be 3" low??

I have tried to download two different round ball trajectory programs, but have been unable to. Could somebody run this for me?? And does anyone know of another one I could try to download onto my computer??

I am still trying to decide between a 50 and a 54 caliber in an MZ I am about to order. Thanks, Tom.

If you know the BC of each of those RB's and the velocity that would be fairly easy to compute...

Here is a ballistic program that Underclocked put up on another forum that might work for you.

In a traditional rifle with open sights, you'll never know the difference between where a .50 or a .54 hits with 100grs of powder...

My .54 is 2 inches high at 50 yards, dead on at 75 and about 2 inches low at 100...I wouldn't shoot at a game animal past 125 yards because the ball loses it's kinectic energy pretty fast past 125 yards...I've done quite a bit of competitive shooting past 125 and I'll tell you doping the wind and bullet drop gets mighty tricky with a round ball gun once you get past 125...

HEAD, I really don't know why you're still agonizing over this. If you get the .50 you will always wonder if you should have gone to the .54. If you get the .54 you will never wonder if you should have gotten the .50.

GET THE .54 DAMMIT!!!
