Default It's wasn't a Hawkins.

The muzzleloader I had mentioned I thought I could get for $30.00 wasn't a Hawkins. It was a Renegade.I bought it anyway for $30.00.It doesn't look like the barrel has been cut off (shortened) but I can't tell for sure. The barrel length is 23.25 inches. So is that a standard barrel length or does anyone believe it may have been cut down to that size. The hardware is in pretty good shape but the barrel looks rough. It's rusted inside and scratched up around the nipple. The guy that was holding it for the owner was trying to get the nipple out without a nipple wrench and scratched it up.I'll probably replace the barrel anyway. The hardware is in pretty good shape, hardly any rust on it.And the stock is in good shape, not all scratched up and no cracks.

For $30.00 go buy yourself a GMB carbine 50 cal LRH and you have a nice muzzle loader for less than $170.00 with shipping. if you want to spend more you could buy the 28" LRH barrle for a little over $100.00 more. Ray

I have a .54 Renegade. Mine was a kit gun that required finishing the stock by the buyer. I just measured the barrel at 27".

Renegade barrels are 27" long to the rear of the breech plug.

Oh, thats no good. I'll give you $40 for it so you don't have to fool with it

I wish I could find a deal like that....I've actually always wanted a renegade. Should have bought one years ago when they were cheap.

I did some searching the carbine versions had 21" barrels apparently.it would seem the one on the rifle you bought was cut.
