Can/has anyone shot 40 cal bullets with a thicker sabot out of a 50 cal gun?
I know you can do 40's out of 45's & 45's out of 50 cal guns.
Maybe a dumb question cause of bullet diam's in sabot?
Just askin cause I know that if it did work--you would get a better velocity/flatter trajectory & range shoud increase as well.
Thanks!

Certainly will get a flatter trajectory.... but range???? you really run out of energy with a 40 when you are shooting way out there....

Thanks Sabotloader,
Looks like a very flat trajectory. I thought I've read that one needs 900 lbs of energy for a ethical kill. I wonder how the Lehigh or SST would do at impact with that power.
It's always fun to plan for the long shots but it seems like I always end up close, even on the plains of west Kansas where I hunt.

You can play around with this if you know some of your info on the bullet.
