Post Teflon tape

I have heard a little about teflon tape being used on breech plugs.I'm getting ready to go do some shooting maybe tomorrow. The question is do i need teflon tape and use my T17 Breech Plug Grease together or can i just use Breech plug grease on my Omega Breech Plug

The Teflon Tape is more of a use for (Blow Back) than for ease of removing the Breechplug, even though it serves both porpouses. If you have little to no Blowback the T17 BP Grease is enough.

I quit using grease several years ago - just a bit messy for me. Just hated cleaning it out of threads - I only use tape now.

Probably not needed on a Speed Breech, especially shooting BH but I still use it...

This is an over-due job - but I feel better... and I am shooting T7 so it doesn't hurt....

Do you wind your tape clockwise or counter clockwise?

I personally use both the tape and some Slick 50 One Grease I smear on the tape. I have never, since I started doing that, had a stuck plug.

I wrap mine with the direction of the threads as you insert it. If you go the other way it can ball up and tear....

I wipe the threads with a lightly oiled patch then apply Teflon tape. I used to use Loctite anti seize but it is really messy.
