info on a CVA Kodiak?

My dad ran across a very good deal on a new CVA Kodiak. He is an open sight, close range type of deer hunter. He's always shot a CVA .45 Kentucky rifle that he built from a kit back when I was learning to walk. In the past, he always grumbled about inlines and pellets, etc until he shot my Optima a few years back. He claims that the fiber optics sights are handy for bad eyes, and they would just not look right on his old rifle
...long story short, he's been trying to find an inexpensive inline.
Anything I should tell him about the Kodiak to help him make up his mind? Remember, he's wanting a rifle for close ranges (50y or less) and he doesn't need or want anything too fancy. A crappy trigger will be an improvement from the rifle he is shooting now!
Thanks for any info

Thanks for the heads-up. The issue is $, and that is a bit out of his range. The Kodiak was priced to him quite a bit less than the Wolf. He doesn't punch paper other than to check his POI, and only hunts a couple of days a year. If he can't find a decent rifle in his price range he won't be too upset to continue using what's been working for him. If nothing else, I'd be glad to let him use my Optima Elite and it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit to tag a deer with his old .45. I shot my first deer with it.

I've got a Kodiak and a Kodiak Pro.....both are Shooters, and he should'nt be worried about shootin the Kodiak over 150yds without any problems. The only dislike I have about the Kodiaks is the (Trigger Mech) is connected to the Barrel and cant be removed for cleaning. It kinda gets in the way when you have to clean the barrel and cant be taken apart for cleaning. But I got used to it and it's not that big of a deal. I think I got My Kodiak New for around less than $140

I had the Winchester version of the Kodiak Pro.
Stock and recoil pad IMO were good for a synthetic. Shoots pretty soft with recommended load data.
The trigger wasnt that bad after a little use and not horrible to begin with. One or two piece bases both seem to work well with the length of pull.
It shot pretty well with upto 100gr of T7 and BH209 but was a bit dirty and had a little more blowby than i wanted...That can be fixed or vary from gun to gun.
Mine served me well for about 4-5 years and is now in my friends collection. His son shoots it with just a GoldDot and 80grs and loves it.
