Default T/C Triumph

I was a avid BP shooter for years. The old traditional ML's. I belonged to a couple of muzzleloading clubs. After a couple moves I hadn't gotten to shoot in several years. I bought the wife a T/C Triumph last Christmas. She shot a nice doe last week with it. My question is the breech will not close using Winchester 209 primers. The Remington 209's work fine. Has anyone else experienced this with their Triumphs? I've had several problems with this Triumph. T/C is going to swap it out. I'm waiting on the call tag. It's been back to T/C three times before the first shot was fired. This must have been a Monday morning rifle LOL.

I can't complain they are making it right now and I've had great customer service from T/C over the last 30 plus years.

Someone else told me his Triumph will not close with Winchester primers also.
What's the deal with Winchester's ?

It is a head space problem win 209 primers are longer than any other and they try to keep them tight enough to eliminate blow back. Different breach plug or slightly deepening the primer pocket would probably take care of it.

I have fired about 100 Winchester 777 primers through my Triumph without a problem.

Thanks guys. I happened to go in W*M tonight and they had the Winchester 209 Triple 7 primers so I bought a box to try. FedEx came this afternoon and picked up that Triumph. I hope the replacement turns out better then this first one was.

I appreciate the comments.

I've only used Winchester 209 primers. Never had a problem with my Triumph closing.
