I didn't want to hijack the other thread so I figured it would be better to start another thread. As some of you may know a challenge was issued by MD which I think should be excepted. He said he would put his inferior products up against anything I know.The more I thought about it the more I think it shouldn't be a grudge match between 2 people but rather a fun time sharing and shooting. So with that in mind I propose an open invitation to a shooting demonstration and competition . Since I have 8 kids and a pregnant wife and a farm I can't leave, so I will offer the following. A place to stay for up to 14 people and all the food you can eat while here. In MD's case I will throw in 10 pounds of shockeys gold and about 19 or so packs of powerbelts that I no longer use.
I have 130 acres of pasture. I will post a pic of the first half, you can't see the remainder because of the hill. I just shoot in my pasture. Nothing fancy just targets stapled on pallets.
We can set it up at whatever ranges are acceptable. This will be open to the first 14 people that want to come out. Contingent on MD coming of course.
We can get together and hammer out details once someone wants to come. To start with though I propose no more than 2 inlines and 2 traditional guns per person. Any combination of powder ,bullets ,etc. ranges can vary from 50 to 300 yards. No benches or lead sleds. Just bipods ,shooting sticks or off hand. I know 150 yards offhand is ok for MD. Me , well I admit I need a bipod. anybody have suggestions post them here. Anybody that wants to come to South Dakota for this pm me. Once we work out details then we can set a date. If we need to prove anything let's at least make it fun.

That's a long drive from New Orleans, but you're in about the only part of the country I've never been to. I assume we're talking Springtime? I'll bring a large bag or two of groceries - just let me know what should be in it. Also, my wife will be along for the ride, so a motel would probably be best. Is there something suitable near you? Maybe we will need to book a block of rooms for everyone.

Semi I live 20 miles from a motel in one direction and 30 miles the other way. It's up to you but staying here is free.
I can keep the kids out of your hair( if you have any) There are 14 beds, 2 showers ,washer and dryer and a kitchen that is available to use. Heck I should have all the deer, antelope, goat and rabbit you want to eat.Of course if you want to spend 30 bucks a night for a motel as a second honeymoon with your wife I understand.

Great idea's guys. Let's make it a weekend if possible. Heck, i'll bring old technology with me. A Knight disc Elite 45, factory breech plug, those dumb red plastic jackets, 777 powder, and winchester primers. It will be awesome to see how a 10 year old design keeps up with the newer CVA stuff and others.

Got a 10 year old Hunterbolt that does quite nicely with a slotted breech plug and blackhorn209. That reminds me, i need to do some shooting with that later on.

Can i use that old 1987 cva hawken?

A Weekend is fine or even longer if someone wants. Keep the suggestions coming and we will have this ironed out way ahead of time.

You bet. I think any blackpowder gun you want to use is acceptable.

Ok but keep in mind i am shooting a cva hawken with an approved load of 5g jsg and 80gr blackhorn209, You may want to dig a couple fox holes

I'll just make sure I'm standing behind semi or grouse or someone else when you shoot.
