Apologize for what???? That a customer service person at Western Powders said it was ok??? Does that mean now it's ok in your eyes? Those same people told the world you could use all 209 primers as well. Those same people never told you BH209 would only ignite in certain breech plugs reliable.
After looking at your projects on other boards, you would believe anything. I can understand you stay away from boards i'm on, because i will call you out on many things. Now to make that comment about Sabotloader, i think 90% of the people on this board think your nuts now.
MD, you did supply the email as requested. And i commend you for that. Now it's time for me to supply my info from the powder makers not the sellers. I'm actually hunting and should have the info supplied in a couple weeks.

i had nothing to prove from the beginning. You all were basically calling my liars, thinking im crazy enough to do something that isnt safe. I held my hand until someone behind me looked at my cards and told everyone else to lay their hand down because i was all over them like white on rice.
Now we all have to listen to the "expert" talk out his other hole on whats safe and what isnt.
Sure must have some REALLY good depth in the muzzle loading industry to get safe/unsafe duplex loads, especially for an average joe that he supposedly is.

You supplied your email/information very clearly. You did a great job. Now i will also supply information like you. Before you make statements i suggest you chill out on what's safe and what's not.

What would be the issue with what you have proposed? I think should just work dandy... Have you tried shooting BH in a sidehammer with a hot #11 mag cap or maybe even a Musket Cap?
I am thinking if the the bolster opening is large enough and you just drop a few grains in the bore - then tap it out and over under the nipple, then dump the rest - it might just go boom for you.
I also do not think it would be consistently successful enough to hunt with but it would be an interesting experiment.
Back to the top... I do not think shooting a pure load of BH was ever the question - it was the unknowns of duplexing a Nitro based powder.
What will you think once the rifle is running straight blackhorn?

While I have been laid up for a while I do that on a regular bases. It works 100% of the time. With Blackhorn in a traditional it acts very similar to 777, I use about the same amount that I prime the flint lock with. It shows no difference in the pressure with only a prime to set it off. I would not recommend any more than that because of the possibility of a detonation.
