I have a Rem 7ooml zeroed in at 100 yards. Shooting 250 grain shockwaves with 100 grains loose triple 7.The range I go to only gets out to 100 yds. Was wondering how much drop that bullet would have past 1oo yds. Also gonna try some 300 grain sst through same set up. Do you think there will be a big drop with heavier bullet. Thanks

I found setting your zero at 150 yd. you will be roughly 1 1/2" to 2" high at 100 yd. and around 3" to 4" low at 200 yd. this will eleminate hold over an keep you in the bread basket. I can hit a water jug holding on the top inch or so at 250 yd. Ya need to really shoot these yardages if you intend on taking game at these kind of distances, I'm sure sabotloader will chime in with some charts.

Guessing at your muzzle velocity and using Lee Shooter, here is a chart of your 250 shockwave ballistic.






Next is a chart of what might happen with a 300g bullet.








Note that the 300g bullet, even though it starts out slower than the 250g bullet flies about the same, because it has a better ballistic coefficient. It could be you have a higher muzzle velocity with the 250g bullet than i gave credit for, but it should be close.


Lastly, here is a chart of what the 300g bullet would do if you sight it in about 2 3/4" high at 100 yard. One can see that holding center of chest out to 190 yard will result in a dead deer.
