its a really darn nice rifle but the $500 tag is a bit much IMO. Granted it has the custom work and all but thats just me

His last price of $450 is close to $100 less than what a new GP caplock would cost. The modifications look really well done to me. I find it very attractive. If it were a flintlock I would be thinking about it myself. You can get a used .50 GP caplock cheaper than that (maybe $300 to $350) if you wait around and shop the forum classifieds. But I don't think you'll find a unique piece like that. I think it's a fair price.

Just my two cents.. but the price is a little high. He reworked the rifle granted, but it is not new.

What is the difference in that rifle and a flintlock? The pictures are kind of fuzzy, but looks like a flintlock to me??

The last picture shows it really well... It is a 'flinter'

Dang! It sho`nuff is a flinter. My bad. I still think $450 is a fair price given the amount of work that went into the re-do. If the bore is perfect it makes little difference that it's not a new gun. I think it's better than new with the modifications.

I thought it was a cap lock.. That might be worth the money being a flintlock. That was a rifle I always liked.
