Your question about it only being good for certain loads.
If you learn where any load hits then there are two ways you can adjust to it.
One is by shooting and learning where it hits with the load you like.
The other is related to the way I use PBR [point blank range]
If you adjust the height of you hit so your 200 yard is on then you may be an inch or at most 2 inches high at 100 but will be on close enough so a deer will never live to find out the difference.

Looking to upgrade my scope. Right now my traditions scope came with my rifle. I don't like the clarity of it. Not sharp and not the best in lower light conidtions.
Looking for something in the $200(cnd) range.
Right now im looking at the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st..._SearchResults
Also RedHead Epic

Cableas Powderhorn

I own a Traditions Buckstalker along with the Traditions 3-9x40
Any suggestions?

I'd read this before you buy anything. http://opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=21176
It's not that the Prostaff is a bad scope, because it's not. It's just that you can get even better scopes for not much more.
I'd go for a Burris Fullfield II or Vortex Diamondback if it was me.
That being said I have a Leupold VX-I on mine, but I really don't like it. The reason I have it is I replaced it on my rifle because like I said I didn't like it. So I had an extra scope so just put it on my muzzle loader instead of having to buy a new scope.
