blackpowder VS smokeless

I used 52.2 grains H4350 with those 180gr hornady's and they did excellent this evening when it was cooler out. First 2 shots into the same hole and the 3rd shot opened it up to a 3/8" center to center group.

If i reload tomorrow i will try the 165 grain Sierra boat tails.

Are the boat tails still available? We havent bought those since i believe 1995 or 1996

Those Bergara barrels do shoot good though, i may have to look at a Scout in either 270 or 06 and go rifle hunting one of these years.

I first started reloading with pop back in 1955. Boy was that a long time ago?!?!?

I reload all my centerfire rounds I shoot now. I don't care much for commercial loads.

more like i dont care for commercial prices!!

Then again the bullet tips are getting out of hand these days. Then theres the finding primers issue.

i dont have any hard times with my muzzle loaders. I dont need after market parts to make them shoot clean and or reliable with blackhorn
