I recently purchased a T/C Muzzle Loader for Deer season this year(tierd of being just out of range with my Bow) and have hit the kill zone from 80 or so yards out with fixed sights but may need to shoot as far out as 120 yards in my hunting spot. I took a shot at 150 with my Omega scope and hit the kill zone with no problem at that distance. I'm using 250gr. Shock Wave Sabot rounds with 2 pellets at 150,is this to far to knock down a large Deer with anything put a lung or heart hit? And will the scope make it harder at closer ranges say 40 to 60 yards or will this help me drop the Deer and save myself a lot of tracking on a blood trail?

You should be able to hit something the size of a deer's lungs at that distance with no problem with that load. Omega's are nice scopes, just keep it about 3 power and turn it up on a distance object. At 40 yards you shouldn't have any problem. In the past couple of years I have started using neck shots about every time. No problem with any tracking. Check the muzzleloading forum, lots of great guys on there.

I love my omega muzzleloader scope. At the range ive shot out to 300 yards with it but I dont think id shoot at game much past 200 depending on my rest.

2 pellets and that Shockwave should work just fine if you put that bullet in the right place. Although IMO there are better bullets out there. I have read a lot of horror stories about the Shockwaves pushing a pencil hole through the deer and not expanding. One reason I would go to something like a Barnes or Nosler.

As for the scope, a 2-7x32mm will have you shooting out to those distance with ease. Also the close shots are easy if you turn the power down. I was shooting a Black Diamond XR at a paper plate out at 150 yards and the scope on that is a 1.5-4.5x32mm. Once I learned the drop it was easier then I thought to hit that plate.

I am really looking forward to using my Muzzy this season because the nice juicy Doe's seemed to know not to get in Bow range after I nailed my Buck where I hunt. More meat is desired this year with so many Does in my area,it's good eats for sure.
