Remington Muzzleloaders???

I don't have one nor have I ever shot a Remington ML.There has been several posts on here about them.I've heard good and bad. Some have complained about misfires and bolt problems. Most that replied said throughly cleaning the bolt helped eliminate their problems. One of my friends a couple years back had one. He was not impressed with it's accuracy and sold it.At that time I was looking for a inline and he discouraged me about the Remington. Before you go for the Remington check other makes. Knight,T/C, Ruger, Savage and now there is going to be a Winchester in line hitting the market shortly.I like my Knight Disc.If I were only going to have one in line I would keep my Disc.See which one is the most comfortable and fits you the best.Ruger Redhawk

I own a Remington ML. Love it! Never had a misfire. I clean it after each use. I leave the breech plug and nipple out until I am ready to use it and wipe it off, apply grease to the threads and fire three caps off before loading it. I use 2 - 50gr pellets and 240 gr Hornady sabots. When I finished sighting it in the last four shots were in a 2 inch circle. Took two deer with it, one at 61 paces the other at 98 paces. I couldn't ask for anything more!!

What I have herd is that remington knows that they have problems and refuses to correct them, and that is too bad. I have owned remington rifles with never a problem. I just hope that they keep up the good tradition..........Bruce

I have a remington and shoot honest 1 inch three shot groups at 100 yards with 100 grains of 2f black powder and 300 grain Barnes MZ expanders. It is very important to clean the bolt as remington describes in the manual. If you do this you will not have any misfires. I really like mine but there are a lot of other good guns out there which are capable of the same accuracy. Buy what you feel comfortable with.

I don't think the Remington is a bad gun, but when compared to all the other good in-lines out there..............it is just too overpriced in my book. Why spend $400 when $200 puts just as much meat in your freezer?

Trust God..........but keep your powder dry!

I have Rem 700ml and like it real well. It shoots good groups, and the triggers arn't bad either. I also shoot a Rem 700 in 270, so both guns are alot alike. Yes the Rem does misfire if the bolt isn't cleaned, and you use to heavy of a lube in cold weather. In ext. cold weather I use W-D 40 or no 2 deisel fuel and never have had a missfire. My only $.02 Zeak
