Default gold dot plunge

I have read so much about gold dots and i am going to take the plunge.i shoot a triumph and the wife has a wolverine and i am trying to narrow down sabots,so i dont have to buy a bunch of different ones if possible.the triumph is tight barreled lol.it shoots barnes TEZ's well, but they are expensive and i will save those for the condor zone.what the best weight 250 or 300?i am seriously considering the rifle after utah season to use here in general rifle season.

This season i used the 270g Gold Dot, and the crush rib sabot in my Omega. It seems to be a fine bullet for hunting, and is accurate in my rifles. I imagine the Triumph barrel is some similar to the Omega barrel. My Accura has a slightly larger barrel, and i used the Harvester smooth sabot with the 270g Gold Dot in this rifle. Nearest deer was killed at around 30-40 yard, and the furthest at about 230yd.

I can not speak to the 44/270 i have some bt have never shot them... I can tell you that the .452/300 grain Gold Dot has a very good BC .233 and shoots very accurately to 200 yards. If you are currently using TEZ's easy loads you might want to try the Havester 5045CR (crush rib) or the MMP HPH-3p-EZ....

If you want some additional information of the .452/300 let me know....

I was figuring the crushed rib or ez petal for the triumph, was hoping to maybe use the same sabots for both, dont look like i will be able to though.seriously looking at the 300gr for both rifles.it has a better B.C. and 50 gr difference won't affect the trajectory much.and i like the added knock down power lol..thanks

I haven't been fortunate enough to take any game with them, but the 300's are very accurate out of my Omega.

I think the Wolverine would do great with the 300 Gold Dot but I do think you would have to use a different sabot than the CR...

You did have the correct number for the Harvester CR..
