Default First deer kill with a blackpowder gun

So i have been sitting on a couple of different bear in my area and the late season ML deer came in. Decided that I would take my ML when sitting on the bears in case a deer came bye.

Never did any powder hunting but happened on a really good deal at the end of last season on a Kodiak Magnum Pro.

Last night a deer came about 50 yards from my stand and I was able to make a perfect shot on him (nice 5 point). Deer ran about 15 yards or so in the woods.

I'm hooked!

CVA Kodiak Magnum
100 grains of 777
285 Powerbelt Plantinums

Can't wait until next week as I am going to be sitting everyday.

Yeah if I could get the bear with the ML in the next week and half that would end the perfect season.

A Tip, get yourself a Treestand, it's more comfortable than a Bear, especially if he's in a bad mood! Congrats on your first ML Deer and success to you with many more!

There is something so primitive about ML'ers. I know the feeling and it is good.

I really get emotional when I am in the woods and tag a deer with one of my sidelocks. Now that is going back to basics!!!
