Most any anodized aluminum ramrod is going to get marred up quickly. Just degrease it and repaint it once in awhile.
My Accura rods have never been extended and work just fine for field loading. Everyone should have at least one good range rod... even your wives and girlfriends.
I can't recall ever reloading more than twice in a day while deer hunting - with any muzzleloader I've ever owned (and generally a second load was only because I wasted one for whatever reason).
Yes, Breechplug, my Accura barrel cleans up very easily. Mine also shoots cold right in there with the fouled ones, as does my Apex.

That's 2 different 3-shot groups fired over a month apart - notice the red #1 (cold/clean).

Very Nice group UC, I have the same results as you. Yes I also never had to reload after a shot while Hunting as the first one has always doen it's job. CVA sent me a new Ramrod and I'll be nicer to this one. And My Wife say's she's HAPPY with her Range-rod, it is slightly bent from all the reloading, but she says it works fine!
