Nothing feels better than your first ML Deer, way to go! I hope you get many more.I still can remember my first ML Deer, a 6pt with my Dixie Works 50 Cal. Poor Boy, back in the patch & Round ball only days (no scopes) It was 1987 and I just got the 50 Cal, the (older) guys I Hunted with told me I could'nt hunt out of a treestand with it as when I pointed the ML down the ball would roll out the end of the barrel! I believed them so I hunted from the ground. The 6pt came by and I took him out at 67 yds with 90grs of 3F, I was thrilled! Never went back to a shotgun after that.
Later the guys finally fessed up about the ball rolling out the end of the ML and I felt like a ass, but all was good. Sorry but I had to pass this story along to everyone, Im sure you all got a good laugh!

I also use the Shockwaves and I never had to track one yet. Amazing bullets. Great shooting. It looks like that little guy is pretty happy too. My boy is 6 and he wants to go, just have to convince momma.

Congrats on your first ML deer! Hopefully many more to come. Looks like in a few years you'll have yourself an eager hunting buddy. My oldest (daughter) is 4, and she practically begged me to go see the deer I shot in Saturday. Now she wants to hunt with daddy, but doesn't want to touch the blood. That's fine with me... but she's got a few more years before she'll be able to go. I was happily surprised that the sight of a gutted hanging deer didn't phase her or my two year old son one bit. They were both really curious about it and both wanted to touch the antlers.
