Thumbs up Dropped another hog this morning!

My daughter and I went hoggin this morning and it was a successful hunt! This was her first hunting experience where we got something. She's at the point now to where she understands about being quiet. I bang-flopped this sow at 76 yards from a ground blind with my Endeavor. She was very excited and I think I have a new hunter in the family now. I just wish we weren't leaving for Japan so soon and I had the opportunity to get her shooting. But that's high on my priority list for things to do when we get back. Here's some pics...

WOW!!! you are a very fortunate man. Having shot a great hog, and having such a beautiful little young lady to be with, and to share experiences like this with. It will long be remembered by both of you.

Congratulations on the hog. Nice shooting too. From all I have read, a hog is hard to bang flop. That really looks like a good eating size.. I have no idea what that hog weighs, but I am sure the meat will be appreciated. Way to go there bud.

Congratulations all around to both of you... You need to have yor picture tken with your daughter more often - you have almost cracked a smile

You know a lot of really good education occurs from life's experiances, your daughter will gain a lot of experiances that a lot of other American children will never be fortunate enough to gain and I believe that this gain will be to America's advantage.

Thanks fellas! I really enjoy hunting but it's so much more fun with my little one tagging along. She had a lot of questions and it was fun answering them.

I'm thinking it's going to be a 3 year vacation on Okinawa, courtesy of the United States Marine Corps.

SW, are you rotating out of the drill field? If you haven't already been there, Okinawa is a pretty cool duty station. San Diego like weather all year round, some nice beaches (stay away from the ones that still have unexploded ordinance from WWII, supposedly), and plenty of nice hills to run up and down. You know how the Corps is about hills... if it's there, Marines are going to climb it!

You'd be correct sir! I got done with the Drill Field a while ago and have been working in the Depot Armory for a few years. I was stationed on Okinawa for 14 months back in 1999 and loved it! I'm looking forward to going back but also kind of bummed out about not being able to hunt as often and not being able to get my daughter into the outdoors like I want to. But we'll hit it hard when we get back.....wherever the USMC decides to send us from there.
