I have a .45cal Knight Disc Elite and have been shooting 200gr SST and 200gr Shockwaves with the supplied sabots and 95 - 110 gr 777 2fg & 3fg but can't seem to hold a better pattern than 2" - 2.5" @ 100 yds will the lite Blue sabots from harvester be any better with these bullets ? I have read that with ea. of these bullets if you go above 100 gr of powder they tend to blow apart in game with no exit holes ! BUT I amnot as much worried about the exit wounds as I am the Accuracy right now , this gun should be shooting 1" or better @ 100 yds Any HELP WOULD BE GREATFUL !

I have checked all screws they are good and tight , Barrle is not touching stock any were , everything seems in good shape but like I said 2" - 2.5 " is the best I can get right now HELP HELP HELP

The Leihighs are to expencive so I don't want to shoot these !

Different sabots are worth a try. For what it's worth knights accuracy guaranty is only 2 1/2" @ 100 so it is with in factory specs now.

Hoghead

You are almost there bud, that gun will do better.
1. It might be your bench rest set-up, or your hold on the rifle.
2. Are you sure it is a 1:30 twist, and not the older 1:20 twist??
3. Is there a crud-ring forming, keeping you from seating the bullets the same every time?
4. Maybe the points are being deformed with the seating process with your ram-rod.
5. The two best sabots we have all come to like, are the MMP-Cream/Tan colored(These come with the SST's), and the Harvester Smooth Blue 45/40cal.
6. Almost forgot, this is the HOT season, your barrel will heat up FAST, and this destroys accuracy BIG TIME[:@]. Try shooting later in the evening, when you are in the shade, and it's cooler. Remember to wait at least 5-10 minutes between shots if ya can. I bring my .22 to plink with while I'm waiting

These bullets stabilize easily in the Disc Elites from 80-120g of powder, and will take game very well at just 90g of powder= about 1950-2000fps.

How hot is it, and how long between shots? Over 60F take 5min or more between firing and beginning to load to guarantee the heat isn't ruining your groups.

As for the 200gr SWs blowing apart in deer with over 100gr of powder, frankly whoever told you that is full of BS or has never even tried them. I've shot them exclusively pretty much since they were introduced, taking dozens of deer, and I can count on one hand the number that did not exit.

If everything is okay as far as bases and scope i think you might have a plastic build up in the barrel from the sabots. If you bought this gun used i bet you do.

The 200grn SW is a fine bullet for Deer. I would also try the 200grn XTP. Then i would use the one that shot the best in your ML. I also prefer the Harvester sabot in the 45cal ML.

I bought this gun brand new when FFF had them on close out So the gun is new.
I dont think the tips of the bullets are getting deformed as I am useing a Powerrod with the hollow tip.
The sabots with the SST are the MMP Tan They load stiff But not bad at all Nice equale preshure to seat bullet.
The sabots with the Shockwaves VERY hard almost have to stand on RR to seat bullet .
letting Barrle cool for 15 min. between shots
Swabbing between shots so no crud ring at all
Replaced BP with brand New one
Slugged Barrle it is a .452 Slugged


will order some Harvester sabots too.

Sabotloader I did go back and checked the Floating of the barrle Dollor slid 1/2 way to lug and stopped so I sanded stock and now Dollor slides all the way back to lug now ! This could have been the big probblem we will see !



Grouse No plastic build up but just to make sure I ran a little JB boare past down her to make sure !

Hogghead - I have found the 200 gr .400" XPT to be a great accurate bullet with the Harvester EZ load (light blue) sabot. I've found the Harvester line of sabots to be very consistant with the amount of pressure needed to load them. Not like those supplied with the shock waves. Also, I've never had any luck with T7 powder. Some guys have, but not me. I prefer loose Pyrodex P in my 45s or good old FFFg BP. I've also found that 80 grs of either of these is plenty.
One more comment - that accuracy you are getting now is not bad at all.
