RE: Let the testing begin... Hogs
Sw I do have a Crony and while it is not a new fancy one it does the job. I think I can give you some ball park figures forthe Triumph and the Endeavor[ they run about the same].
By my volume measure 120 gr BH a Short blak Harvester sabot with a 250gr SW I get an average of 1994 FPS The Gold Dot and The Lehigh seem to be a bit faster. I get 1940 for the 300gr SW and 1958 for the 3oogr Gold Dot with the HPH24 MMP sabot. Lee |

RE: Let the testing begin... Hogs
We're suppose to get horrible weather here tomorrow and Friday. But I'm planning to brave the elements and go hunting anyway. After all, the porker I shot just 200 yards from my location was taken in the pouring rain. If something comes up and I can't make it tomorrow, Saturday is looking mighty fine weather wise.
I promise I will knock oneover with an FPB and post the results as soon as I can. Then the SW will be next on the list. And then more than likely the PBE. |
RE: Let the testing begin... Hogs
I notice no one mentions the Bonded Shock Wave, I have used them for years with out any problem. I thought the idea was to use the regular ones for practice [because they shoot the same] and the Bonded one for hunting. Lee

I'd use whichever Barnes shoots best from your rifle.
With the Barnes you could have had a three-fer right here! ![]() Mike ![]() |
RE: Let the testing begin... Hogs
Nice observation! That would be cool to drop three of them in one shot. But then I'd have to clean them all. I think I'll wait until they're separated and just pick them off one at a time. :D

RE: Let the testing begin... Hogs
OK, Now I have a real question about these hogs. We don't have wild hogs here in Minnesota. There have been a few times some have escaped from farms and got down in the river woods but I don't think they survive the winter or else somebody shoots them and I don't hear about it. We really don't want them running wild the way they tear up a woods.
My question is, Are these pigs in these pictures here wild boars or are they simply feral pigs that learned how to live in the wild? I grew up on the farm and still live on the home place and to me they look kind of like a cross between a Duroc and a Poland China. Thanks, Art |
