These hogs seem to favor the evening hours. The feeder goes off at first light and then 10 hours after that. They aren't showing until after 7:00PM.
Ah Ha! There's the reason. I cut my feeders off at the end of deer season so that I don't get a hog wallow on my food plot. Those stinky things messed up one of my feeder areas so bad two years ago that the deer would not go near it. The feeder was 85 yards from my stand and you could smell it from the stand.

We can shoot pigs all year, but not at night. Shooting hoursbegin 30 minutes before sunrise and end 30 minutes after sunset. I probably should set up a feeder on a shooting lane off to the side of the plot and put some pork in the freezer.

Yup, I specifically use this feeder and site for hogs. We can hunt them year round here also. I'll use different tactics and locations for deer when season rolls around. We can start knocking them down on August 15th here.

Looks kinda like shootin' fish in a barrel.
Art
Thanks! I suppose it could be looked at that way. But take a second and think about it... Fish in a barrel can't smell you and get out and run away. Fish in a barrel can't hear you and get out and run away. Fish in a barrel can't see you move and get out and run away. You're not going to shoot at fish in a barrel from 80-100 yards.

Come to think of it, it doesn't sound anything like shooting fish in a barrel.:)

Three evenings in a row between 6 and 8 p.m. With them bunched up like thatyou're gonna need a 4 gauge smoothbore loaded with a double handful of .45 caliber balls. :D:D

My buddy and I are going to try for one this evening. He will be shooting the Remington Genesis I sold him loaded with 100g BH209 and a .44 XTP300g. That's his pet-load. I'm still going to take the daughter tomorrow evening and use whatever is the popular choice. Right now it seems to be the FPB.

Take your camera because I'm interested to see the results of the .430 300g. I bought some the other day and they shoot great, but I'm wondering how they compare to the .452 300g MAGs.

The 250 Shockwaves will work fine.I took a couple of hogs with them in Texas a while back using 100 grains of pyro. Just put in the kitchen and any of those bullets will work fine. Good luck and let us know.
