A T/C Hawken in flintlock version. Convert it if you have to. Get the bullet mould while you're at it and all you'll ever need is gunpowder. Oh yeah and flints and touch hole liners and patches .

The Knight Disc Elite/Extreme have never had to be sent back for any reason. All other Muzzleloaders i have owned have been.

I would go with either a SS Endeavor or a Custom made Hawken. Lee

Lyman Great Plains or a TC Hawken but i'm just bias. Clean them good they will serve your grandkids grankids.

The laminate SS savage is a tank.

i do not post here much but muzzleloading is my cup of tea from a pure all round ml if its legal in your state the savage 10ml its cleaner and cheaper to shoot and mine shoots awsome. its a little bit more finiky with smokeless seating pressure is everything. i have had 15 different ones and savage is my favorite #2 would be my omega 45cal good luck what ever you decide

I add my vote to Driftrider ...the Savage 10ML-SS. I was first introduced to this rifle by my cousin. I loved it from the get go. I found a great buy on a almost unused rifle and jumped on buying it. The Savage ML is a whole 'nother animal when comparing in lines. It shold be at about 2 the cost of rifles like theCVA Optima Pro. What separates it for me from the other in-lines I have usedis found in two features - (1) the Savage Accu-trigger and (2) the fact that you can use smokeless powder (where legal). Working with smokelss and eventually finding the best charge/bullet combo, mine is extremely accurate. I killed several deer with it last season. Including a good sized buck at 155 yards.All other shots were well within 100 yards.I took a shot at and dropped a coyote cleanly at a ranged 238 yards.I guessed right at the holdover and struck the coyote about 2" low of perfect, mid chest. He dropped on the spot. The only gripe I ahve is that it is not easy to insert the primer. As far as accuracy and being able to keep the rifle clean due to being able to use smokeless powder,I cannot imagine a better set-up.

Where smokeless is not legal I use my CVA Optima Pro. It shoots fine. I have taken many deer and a few hogs with it. Most shots have been well under 100 yards, but one kill was a nice buck at about 120 +/-. Groups are very good - under 2 MOA and downrange energy using 100 gr. Triple 7 has been more than adequate.
