I send my 54cal barrel to MD to be browned right. spend $17 on shipping it. been pricing how much it would cost to ship an rifle thou ups. it is going to be cheaper with a rifle box. though ups than an 37x4x4 in box though usps.
both are around 10lbs.
last time I shipped an rifle though usps. it cost me $13 not even broke down

what really sucks are the postal service's insurance rates. UPS is the way to go when shipping rifles, ammo, etc...and when you need to insure it... Small light packages go through the PO...

Just be glad you can ship back and forth the way you can. In Illinois you can't do any shipping except between FFL's. I was excited when I bought my KRB7 in Indiana last year and didn't have to show a thing, just my money. I walked out with the KRB. You can't raise your leg and let out a fart in Illinois without showing your FOID (firearms owners identification card). It sucks.

sjsfire, you live in a real bad state for gun laws and nowI hear that taxes may go up by as much as 50% in your state thanks to the former governor. Where is the NRA and your calvary on stopping this. Folks in that state need to write the letters to the right folks in congress. That FOID and FFL crap is rediculios.I won't even bid on guns that require a FFL, usually that state. Missouri does not require the FFL on muzzleloaders and it seems to be a state that allows all guns.

Believe me guys when I say this. I have almost got the wife convinced to move after she retires in 5 years, although I'm afraid that might not be soon enough. I gave 30 years to the state, have a hell of a nice pension but I'm getting tired of getting screwed. Even the town I live in just spent 12.8 Mil on a new middle school and the high school just did a new 8+ Mil addition, we're getting hammered. I'm thinking Westeren KY or TN around Knoxville. I have a friend that work for the TN Dept. of Transportation and he claims TN is always in good shape, at least better than most. I would like to stay around my Mid Western roots though. Sorry Corey don't mean to hijack you rant with a rant of my own.........
