Excellent shooting Grouse45. Are these the 200g Leigh bullets? You pointed out everything except the bullets. Looks like they come in a SW container, but that may be a left over just to hold them. You also must have an iron shoulder to shoot that much. If I shoot 20 shots with my Savage at 2350 with 300g bullets, I am done, that is with a lead sled and two 5 lb weights of sand. Thse look like aBarnes MZ 195 wiht the large hollow point. I like the looks of them.Do you intend to shoot them in a 50 cal also with the 50/40 MMPs? I guess your follow the Savage Pacnor trend to shoot 250 and 300 with 40 cal guns and sabotless, but I think your way is much cheaper, since you just buy another rifle.

I believe your a "gound breaker" in shooting the 45 cal, especially with these hot of a load. I don't see any load data for the 45 with a 40 cal bullet over at BH site: http://www.blackhorn209.com/files/pdf/b209muzzleloaderdata.pdf

is that why they threw you off MM for "showing unsafe MLing practices" or something like that? I am a member over there, but I don't follow that board.

Chap

Knight Disc Extreme and Elite are capable of shooting 150 grains T7 loose with a given projectile.

BH is a progressive burning smokeless powder and does not create the peak pressure that T7 does. T7 burns a consistant rate which is fairly fast as compared to BH. BH in effect does create pressure in the barrel for a longer period of time than does T7 and thus creates a greater velocity. Acting much like real smokeless powder with a longer burning rate such as 4064 vs 4350. Another characteristic of BH is that it is much more efficient with heavier projectiles.

With Grouse using a 200 grain projectile - BH really does not realize it's full potential and the pressure is significantly less than say shooting a 300 grain projectile.

I hope this makes some sense - I have it semi-clear in my mind but I am not a very good writer... I am sure Tom will/can correct me if I am wrong.

Sabotloader explained it perfect. Thanks Mike. That 200grn bullet with that load is very user friendly on the shoulder.

Grouse, I don't meen to get in your business but why were you removed from MM. I appreciate all of your hard work and always enjoy reading your reviews and looking at the pictures. I like to see other peoplesguns and set-ups. Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication tothe sport of muzzleloading. Keep up the good work. I'm also a member on the other forum. I was just wondering what happened.

Just some different opinions would sum it up. That was/is a great site. I was posting there when there was only three people. Thanks for all the kind words. It's greatly appreciated.
