Not bad at all. It was only 58 yards but that .45 cabelas hawken is living the life when i load up 80gr Pyrodex RS and a 225gr Powerbelt Aerotip.

It didnt do so well with the 275gr AT but i will try it next time with 80gr.

Nice MD. If you have any Pyrodex P you might want to give that a try. Start with 70 then 80 grs.
Butr you know Semisane would tell you not to shoot anything bigger than a ground squirrel with them Powerbelts.......hehehe

Now don't you go getting me into trouble Bronko. I've never shot PowerBelts, and(other than one joke) have never commented on them one way or another. Heck, I hunt a lot with a patched ball, so how could I criticize a heavier chunk of lead? We all know thatol` Devil has done his homework on PowerBelts and has the confidence to move up from ground squirrels to ground hogs.

Maybe Semisane wants to try them with some BlackHorn 209... that would be interesting. MD have you ever shot BlackHorn 209...

All joking aside, hear anything about the Mustang yet?

Nice shooting! Do you plan on seeing what it's got at a further distance?

Nothing new. Dixon Muzzleloading said theysentit to Lyman (I assume to Middletown, CT) on Feb. 18th., so I don't expect to hear anything more foranother week or two. I'm sure glad the firing pin failed after the end ofhunting season and not when I pulled the trigger on the doe I shot with it.

Right now it's no big deal. I think I can findanother gun or two to shoot. I'm taking the .45 GM LRH Renegade and the X7 out for another shoot next week end. Bronko keeps telling me to try some Pyrodex P, so I bought some and will be giving it awork out in those guns.

Well i shot those 225s on accident! I thought they were 275s when i grabbed the pack and i kind of kicked myself in the butt because i only have 2 of them left. I do plan on trying 100 yards in the next day or 2. Today the 348gr powerbelts and the older blackbelts go on the range today. I wanted to compare the two as the blackbelt has a huge hollow point vs the powerbelt.

Ground squirrel!?!!! I'll have you know that the 225gr aerotip is one hell of a nasty deer kill'n bullet! Dont make me post that pic of the shoulder shot mule deer i got in '07 semisane . I know how much you love that one.

We should start a new thread about the "trophies" we've all taken in the past. Sometimes its a good thing to think back in the past and relive those memories.

Cayugad, I have not shot any blackhorn 209. I dont have any inlines at the moment. But i would like to shoot atleast one can of bh209 and powerbelts so i can get the load info available.
