I had asked a couple weeks ago about bullet/sabot loads in an Omega. When looking at some of the recommended bullets I found HORNADY 45 CAL .452 DIA 300GR XTP and HORNADY 45 CAL .452 DIA 300GR XTP MAGNUM. What is the difference between a plain XTP and a XTP Magnum?

The magnum is built to be a little tuffer and not fragment as much. Some claim you get deeper penetration. I have found better accuracy for some reason with the standard XTP. Also I get them in bulk and usually shoot the .44 caliber .430 diameter 300 grain with a Green Harvester Crushed Rib Sabot.

which is really what we are shooting in our MLers. About same velocity, same bullets, so thing that are truths in the 45/70 world should come over to our world pretty well. Please notice his discussion of bullet construction with regard to penetration. Chap

That is some good information. You have the knowledge I would like to tap into. I have just posted a thread on T/C, Hornady and Barnes bullets. Your input would be great. I know you have probly answered the questions on multiple occasions but.......one more time....
