Remember that buying directly from hornady is more expensive than going through a retailer. Once they get this bullet out, I'm curious what it'll be sold at. It looks like it would be a greatsub for buying shockwaves and sabots together.

Speer makes a 270 gr FP Gold Dot (.429) for the 444 Marlin that makes an excellent high(er) velocity muzzle loader bullet. At lower velocities I've had good accuracy from 44 cal bullets, but once I went much over 2200 fps in my Savage they began to open up. Even at that I had consistent 2-3 inch groups a 100 yds. At slower 1700-1900 fps they would stay around 1.5 inches. Never worse, never better.

Chap and crew,
If you open the link I included in the above post you will find that Midway has them 265g FP for $$22.79 per 100 bulk packed Blems.
Just over 100 grains of BH209 should get them to 2000FPS according to BH209 web sites load data. That being dependent on a 26" barrel.

What volume load of say 777,or B209, would get that 265 grainer up around 2000fps?

I am gonna say 110g of BH209 will get ya there. With 777, I know the 3 pellets with 300g bullets gets you between 2000 and 2100, with a 26" barrel, so I am gonna saw with loose anything over 125 or 130 is gonna get you in the ball park of 2000 fps with 265g bullet.
Chap
