Does anyone make any aftermarket 1 piece ram rods that don't scratch so easily?

http://rmcsports.com/catalog.htm

on Left side choose "Ramrods and Accessories" then Black Anodized. Excellent rod. The rugged rod is also good on that page.

I like an XS Power Rod:

You don't need a palm saver with it since the top twists, however you can't put a Spin Jag on it, maybe ya don't need one however.

I love that rod! It's just too bad it wouldn't fit on the Genesis.
This is the Universal Power Rod:

I have lost my Ram Rod twice this year, so now I use ponytail holders over the barrel and rod, black ones, works well.

I have not lost it since then. Chap

It still wouldn't work without an extension. It would either be too long or require an extension.

It says it is universal, you cut it to length, then install an end on it. That is perfect, since it is shipped to you 31" long. Most barrels are at most 26" long or I have seen some 28, but not over that. 31" should work.

I'm sure it would fit. But it would be several inches too short when you went to use it on a Genesis unless you just used it as a range rod. For the Genesis' factory ramrod to work right, you have to flip the end around to extend it. So in theory, the Power Rod would work if you also had an extension on hand to use with it.

Use a range rod at the range and save that ramrod that comes with the rifle for loading in the field. If I have to load with it twicea year that means I have two deer, and am a luck man... I have loaded twice with the rifle's ramrod, just to see if I could get it done.

Why anyone would not have one or two range rods baffle me. I like a nice strong range ramrod. It really comes in handy.
