Knight load suggestions
Just picked up a used Knight LK-93 for my son, and was curious as to some good loads to try in this bp rifle? For projectiles I have onhand240 grain XTP's, a few Dead Ctr's, a few 250 grain shock waves, and some T/C Maxi Hunters. As far as powder goes I have 777 and some Shockeys Gold.
If it makes a difference this rifle still has the original #11 percussion cap breech plug. Which brings up another question. Is the 209 conversion worth the money?

I have the same rifle, and I would not waste the money to convert it. Try 80 grains of powder and a 250 grain shockwave. I think you will be real pleased with the way it shoots. They have a 22 inch barrel so anything over 100 grains of powder is getting close to the point of no returns on the powder (what knight told me).

I have the same rifle and I shoot 90 grains of triple seven behind a 295 grain powerbelt. Mine is very accurate with this load out to 100 yards. I plan to give mine to my Grandson.

I forgot to mention I did invest in the 209 conversion kit for mine which uses the plastic jackets. I used the percussion cap breach plug and nipple for years with no problems though. Knight does offer one now that does not use the plastic jacket that will work also. The choice is up to you.

Have you had any problems with the #11's not igniting 777? I will say one thing about the rifle that I do like, and that is the trigger. It seems crisper and breaks cleaner than my Omega.

Mine has never given me any problem. Use a quality cap and make sure the breech plug is clear before you start. While I have shot 777 I normally shoot Goex 3f out of mine also.
A warning about your trigger.. keep it clean. Take if off about every third or fourth time you shoot, and with a can of brake cleaner (outside) and some eye protection, spray the inside of it out nice and clean. Then I like to hit it with an air compressor and blow it dry. After that, just a few drops of oil back inside it. If that trigger gets dirty, the rifle will not cock. They have a Timney trigger and they are a great trigger.
