SAX - glad you got your rifle back. Encoreman - you are a honorable gentleman. I hope you know I was only joshing ya.
As for the raffle being a scam - I think ISP maybe had good intentions and then everything fell apart. He may be feeling guilty about not distributing the monies to Sax because he got into a bind himself and needed it. But I think if he would have explained the situation to Sax he may have saved face.
If he is reading any of this he should really post an apology on the forum and try to make things right.
After all God does not judge a man until after he is dead. We should do the same.

Well said
I held off a long time saying anything but I felt that with the way it was going that the folks here who donated money and products even when they themselves are probably having tough times deserved to know what was going on.
ISP
I hope you are well and life looks better for you and yours.
I understand how things can get out of hand.
Thanks for sending the gun back,I may have a buyer for it but now my daughter wants it.

bronko22000,
I did not know if you were joking or not, but I'm glad you were and I thank you foryour kind words.
I hope and pray ISP makes things right. I really liked the guy and I had hoped to meet him and his familysomeday.
It seems just like yesterday, he was in the limelight for being a good samaritan. Sabotloader was right when he said it wasn't a total train wreck or words close to that. He brought us all together for a very good cause indeed.

I guess we can still give him the benefit of the doubt for the MOMENT since he returned the rifle.
So, ISP, Saxman has offered you a carrot. You need to contact him with a plan on paying the money somehow, sometime. Even $10/week etc would be a start in the right direction.
Barring that, there is also a "stick". I checked with the Mail Fraud department at the U S post office, and she seemed to think that as it stands, this would definately be considered mail fraud. And ANYONE involved (anyone who sent him a check) could file a complaint. If a complaint is filed with the post office, they forward the info to the local cops for review as well as investigate it for mail fraud. Time to man up ISP. What is is going to be?

He backed out of a gun deal with me even before this all took place. It was a firm "I'll take it" as soon as his income tax refund came. Time dragged on and I offered to let him bow out of the deal gracefully but, no, he still definitely wanted the rifle. About a week later he came up with the story of the government seizing his tax refund for child support payments he had failed to make. OK, so I let that pass andlater sold the rifle to someone else for a little more money.
Then this happens along with a new excuse - and I give no credibility to the most recent "story". Others have spoken up suggesting they were also shafted by the man in their dealings with him.
There is NO benefit of the doubt to be given.

Trying to buy a rifle for himself when he hadn't made child support payments? Guess that says it all.......

Yep, but at this point can't help but wonder if they seized his refund or whatever, or if he just found something else he would have rather spent the money on and didn't figure there was another way to back out.
I guess for me it's a good reminder to "let your yes be yes' and your no's be no's" becuase you never know just how many people are really paying attention and who might find out about it.
