OK when i get my triumph i am going to start with the shockwave 250s. properly be my hunting round for this year since i do not have months to shoot.
Someone told me that the bonded 250 shockwave was to much power for deer to get the unbounded.
what do you guys think

It depends on what powder charge you plan on shooting , me I would start with 80 - 110gr and a reg SW but if you want to push them really hard 120gr or over I would go with the Bonded. But that is just me
Also I would go with the 300gr SW a little better Constructed and tougher than the 250gr.

With the 300gr I would start out @80 And work your way up until you find the sweet spot I have one ML that I shoot 300gr bullets out of with 100gr 2fg 777 and have killed deer @ over 150yds But would use 85 or 90 if the gun liked that charge but the gun likes 100gr with the 300gr bullet & 90 with a 250gr bullet. You have to remmember that Guys Including My self are shooting 400gr to 500gr conicals with powder charges from 70gr to 90gr and have killed animals @ over 150 to 175yds . also remmember that most of your killes will be from 20yds to 80 or 90yds on the averageI know you live in INDIANA as so do I and even though I have killed deer a long ranges My average Kill over the past 10yrs has been about 35 to 50yds . But I seldom hunt Fields I like the Thick timber and Ridges . If you want to hunt Fields for long shots You may want to look at the 200gr SW also with 110gr of powder very deadly medican for WT Deer.

one spot i will hunt is a field about 550 feet each way square.
Then back from it in the woods is the spot i will hang my stand it is on a creek by a thicket and i am think from the tree shots could be 5 yards or 10 to 15 at the most.
it will be my main bow spot.
Then i will hunt a finger field of beans that has a 75 to 100 yard wide field of bean a strip of woods another field of bean 100 to 150 yards wide
a strip of woods and another field about 40 yards wide.
then i have a few spots that are in the woods deep one of which is a sorghum field and another that is a strip of woods on a corn field and a field that is unplanted

I think that from what you have Explained about your set up that IF it were me I would go with a 250gr BondedShockwave or the 300gr Reg ShockWave and start my loads out at 85gr and work my way up to no more than 110gr, go in 5gr increments But I bet that your sweet Spot will be some were around 90 to 100gr . another great bullet to try would be a 250 or 275gr Parker BE they shoot great out of the Triumphs from every thing I have read. If you would like to see a shooting report on the SW & Parkers go to the Modern Muzzle loader forum and go under the Smokeless Section then look into the Balistic perma gel bullet tests ( Sticky ) the 250gr Reg SW Desinegrated at 1800 FPS witch is about 90 gr of 777 ! WOW very good read.
