409 cleaner ot any mix of household cleaners will work good. Or simple dish soap mix.

I say, soaking a breech plug overnight!!! How quaint.

Put the the breech pluginto a small bowl filled with Windex with vinegar. After about ten minutes remove the breech plug and brush off the residue with a toothbrush. Use a pipe cleaner to cleanthe hole under the primer seat.

Faster method: Spray the breech plug with Windex with vinegar and use a toothbrush to remove the softened residue.

A little Dawn dish soap on an SOS pad and run it under hot water. Dry, Lube and reinstall.

After cleaning the plug, I always run some alcohol through the flame channel before greasing the threads and reinstalling.
