I found using a socket with a long extention to work best.
Still need to protect the stock withpad - they do ding easy.

Getting ready to take it out to 58 yards. I did something rare and put on a pair of shorts

58 yards. Brother took 2 shots to see how he would do.

All of my 4 shots to the left were with CCI shotshell primers. Wasnt pleased with the group but its a start.

My next 3 shots that are center were with the remington kleanbore primers.

Going back out with a new target and going to shoot 71 yards off my table and see how i can do.

71 yards with rem kleanbore 209's.

Out of curiosity, it would be intersting to see how that rifle does with a 250 grain Shockwave... even though sabots are not legal in your State for the muzzleloader season.

What do you plan next... powerballs?

295 powerbelts as soon as they come in. should be by mid next week i would expect. I think if i were to wad a fiber wad i could get them to group in 3s.

i hate these lubed bullets though. i accidently knocked over the case and half of them fell right into the dirt. Yeah, you all know what went on when that happened

ok, better 5 shot group @ 71 but i just can not explain why shots 1-3 are so spread out and 4 and 5 are clipping.

well i will be useing the bdc scope i thought you had to use a certine grain of bullet and powder

Hey Gander, I've had the same problem. In my last session with the Mustang I got a 100 yard group that had about a 1" vertical spread, but a 2 1/2" horizontal spread (see target). I'm convinced it's not the gun, but something to do with shooting technique - probably something like cheek weld ortrigger control.

Could be. Im setting up for 100 yards tomorrow and going to bring out the ol' bean bag to add a little weight to my shooting rest. Going EARLY in the morning! I didnt sleep for chit as i predicted. Woke up @ 5am and stayed away until 8am when i could get the mail.
