Ok after looking, this is the 300g plat with 120g goex Pin. Buck at 50 yards, Am i correct?

Yup, That's it! i was talking to my son about it last night, and he corrected me. He actually helped me cart out both those deer that day, and was there for the butchering[8D] i was testing the shockwaves, and had some 300g Plat PB's in my pockets for quick reloads, but used the 120g powder tube instead of the 60g tubes[:@][&:][:o]

Thats good then! Shows the platinum will hold up at that distance with that load.

Was the shot through the shoulder or the typical behind the lung?

Quarting slightly away, bullet went in behind shoulder, and penetrated thru the opposite shoulder bone. blew the shoulder all to bits!

Looks like that stringy jerky.

Thats what happened with that one deer my father shot with the .45 i had and the 80g 3f t7 and 225 AT. The way the deer was standing, bullet went right though the lungs and exited out the center of the shoulder. That leg we had to cut off and leave for the 'Yotes.

I would use a 225g at on a 200+ lb deer. No problem! Those are just examples given. But as all of us hunters know and can agree with, the bigger the bullet, the better.
