Was the shot through the shoulder or the typical behind the lung? |

Quarting slightly away, bullet went in behind shoulder, and penetrated thru the opposite shoulder bone. blew the shoulder all to bits!

Looks like that stringy jerky.
Thats what happened with that one deer my father shot with the .45 i had and the 80g 3f t7 and 225 AT. The way the deer was standing, bullet went right though the lungs and exited out the center of the shoulder. That leg we had to cut off and leave for the 'Yotes. |

I would use a 225g at on a 200+ lb deer. No problem! Those are just examples given. But as all of us hunters know and can agree with, the bigger the bullet, the better.
