In northern Wisconsin we have winter of course, and then a short time when the sledding is no good for the kids...

I think you're right.. Winter and get ready for winter. I will have to remember that one..

Actually today was beautiful out. 60 degrees for a high, with a strong wind. So I fixed the roto tiller rewind and tilled up both of the big gardens so I can plant sometime next week. I'm getting tired of hauling the tomato, pumpkin, and other starter plants in and out of the house each day. But it does get them tuff and able to handle the shock of suddenly being outside. The other night we hit 28 degrees for the night time low.. so it is still a little early to plant the garden. Although I have my snow peas in (they go in right after thesnow melts off)and they are already up and doing very well...

We had a few flakes fall last Sunday and it was cold out. I had a nice wood fire going and it felt nice. Today I noticed on my tomato starters I have a tomato already...

I grow Early Girl tomatoes as they produce the fastest. Must be nice to have tomatoes already there Semisane...

I might plant them this weekend and then cover them every night well into June. I want to get out of this habit of taking them outside each day and then back in at night... I have forty starters of tomatoes and 10 pounds of potato seedlings ready to go... I like homemade tomato juice..

.
You show me yours and I'll show you mine.

(What a great forum HNI is -from Zouavetargets to weather, to tomatoes in the same post. You can't get away with that in some other forums.)
