Default Powerbelts- 275g & 195g Tests

275g HP Powerbelt, 58 yards, Bullet went through 2 of my sand filled coffee cans. I found it a few feet behind the sand cans the next day.

Beautiful thick chunk of lead right in the center of the bullet.

80g Pyrodex Select out of my .45 Winchester Apex. These shoot the best in this rifle so these are what i will be using. Also would be safe to use 90g and possibly 100g powder.

195g AT Powerbelt, 58 yards, 80g Pyrodex Select, One Coffee can sand trap.
The bullet on the right was shot into a log and it rolled into a round ball

I was very impressed with how the 195g performed and i put this bullet on my to shoot list next hunting season at a mulie. I wouldnt go over 80 grains. I dont feel it would be safe.

Saxman, I'll test those 245's you sent me as soon as they come in and post the results for you. I'll also make a sand trap out of 2x6's and set it up at 100 yards and show you how well that 80g charge will do for you.

Did the base actually stay on it?

Forgot about this one. 295g powerbelt,80g pyrodex select, 100 yards. The rifle shot really low and hit the 2x4 on my target holder and then stopped in a pile of dirt/sand i have behind my target.
I added the base so the bullet would stand up for the pic. Should have washed the bullet.

That Sabertooth looks really good. I will be trying those out soon in my testing... I look forward to that. Thanks for the info, I haven't been able to find much on them.

I thought you may like to see the ST bullets , Have you tryed them yet?

No the base was put back on for PIC. No Crony so I don't know what FPS was but both the PB & ST did very well , I am planning on trying the ST out of my Renegades & Hawkins pritty soon.

I am pritty happy I just pick up a 54cal Renegade today.
May be planning on getting a GM .45cal Barrle for my Renegades as I really love a 45cal. so then I'll have a 45 - 50 - & a 54 will be able to hunt anything I want to then.

Ron, i shot them 4-5 years ago out of my Winchester X-150 i had. The bullet fell out of the cup on the first morning of the hunt when i jumped over a small creek and i didnt know it until 20 minutes later when i pulled the trigger on a big doe. After that i wont use them any more. That day i switched back to the 295g powerbelt and ended up shooting a doe 3-4 days later at 146yards.

I do not like that the bullet is just held in by the cup and relies on a tight bore to hopefully hold it in place. I can only imagine what would have happened if i had the rifle strapped to the 4 wheeler like i usually do.

Powerbelts and round balls are all i will use now. I just like to experiment with other bullets.
