Green Mtn. Drop in Barrel
I am thinking about getting a 1:70 twist Green Mtn. drop in barrel for my T/C Hawken so I can shoot Patched round balls more accurately (I hope) than the stock 1:48 twist that came on the rifle. My question is has anyone done this? Are these barrels a true "drop in" application? What kind of accuracy can reasonably be expected with these barrels at say 50 - 75 yds? Are these barrels factory finished? Where is the least expensive place to get one you guys know of? Thanks in advance.

RE: Green Mtn. Drop in Barrel
A buddy of mine got 3 Green Mountain barrels. One was on a .32 squirrel gun. It shoots one hole at 35 yards! The .45 was sealed in plastic and will go on Kentucky rifle long gun when he rebuilds the stock. The .54 went on and CVA gun and he kills deer with it every year. He took it Elk hunting once, but didn't get close enough for a shot. I think he got them unfinished and had them blued afterword.
