If you want something nice and short with good light ability, the Nikon 1X is a great scope. Even though it is only a 20mmI have been playing with it at dusk and it seems real good. I have a Bushnell Trophy Red Dot on my CVA Staghorn Magnum. Without a doubt, from 75 yards and in set at 3moa, that red dot is deadly. But at night, the ability to see though it the last fifteen minutes of hunting time, becomes near impossible. Also the red dot will grow a tail as it gets darker. Not a problem mind you, you just ignore it and use the dot. The worst part is, its darker looking through the scope the last couple minutes then without it.

T/C makes a nice 1X scope as well. Tradition's sells one too. In fact I am going to buy one, next trip to the city. They are only like $50.00 so if it don't last it is not a life and death thing.
