21 in. GM Barrel
 

Green Mountain barrel on my Investarms stock. Like some-one said I had to file the tang a little.

I only had time to shoot a couple rounds, but it seems to shoot really good. 80 gr. Pioneer 2f with 240 gr xtps and green mmp sabots. Really lets you know when you pull the trigger, even with only 80 gr. I just might put a red-dot scope on here seeing we can't use magnification in Wisconsin's muzzleloader season yet, maybe some day, but that is another story for a different day.
Just wondering, I had a picture of the target,1.75" at 50 yds. but it says you can only upload one file per post. How do you guys do it? I will figure it out eventually!!

Looks really good to me. Maybe a few grains more or less and it would be a 1 holer? Nice looking gun and group.

Mine likes 90 grains of Goex 3f being a flintlock. I shoot the .430 300 grain Hornady XTP in a green crushed rib sabot. Accuracy is exceptional...


Nice shooting there. And might I add, that is a great looking rifle you have there. That would be a perfect tree stand and stalking rifle. As for the RED DOT.. I have mixed feelings about them. While they do work, they have some quirks that I do not like. Instead, I have been changing over to a 1X scope which is legal in Wisconsin. I have a Thompson Center and a Nikon. Both are great scopes.

I shot mine today 240 and 30o flint no misfires and just a sweet gun to carry when thing get dry I will build a load.

I agree with Cayugad on the red dot. Had one on my New Englander for a while. It was great in good light - fast and accurate. But almost worthless in low light conditions. Even worse than iron sights. Replaced it with a 2X pistol scope (it's forward on the barrel in a "scout" position, so I needed the extra long eye relief). I think you will find a 1X scope far superior to a red dot.

Sure wish we'd get some decent weather so I could shoot mine more. We've had rain, rain, and more rain. The range is so muddy I hate to even think about it.
I'm going to try some sabots in mine next time out.

I"ve heard that about red-dots, not real good in low light and even a smaller view than with no scope at all. I have a Leopold Gilmore on my turkey gun but never really had the opportunity to try it in low light. I think I will take it out at when it is starting to get dark and see how it looks before I put it on and sight it in. Thanks for the heads up. Ireally like the balance with the short barrel !!!!!
