Man Gander, sorry you had a sour experience like that. What vent liner do you have on that rifle? If it's the factory Lyman liner you need to open it up, or better yet, get the RMC liner. (Well would you listen to me - a flintlock novice sounding like an old pro 
)

I hope i have it figured out. I didnt have any trouble at all when i was using fffg.
Factory liner. I will more than likely drill it out for now and then use a few RMC's later towards hunting season.
