I was able to get to the range today, and never even got stuck. I even shovelled the path to the shooting bench and then down to the target. I've walked it so much in snowshoes and boots that now the pack supports my weight and I can simply just wear hunting boots out there. Besides, it was beautiful outside. 28ºs and sunny, with a lite wind. Could not ask for better. All you needed was a light wool jacket today Semisane.

I shot my GMB 21" Flintlock, my White Ultra Mag, and a .54 caliber T/C New Englander. I shot all kinds of different things.. sabots, conicals, and even roundball. You want a hoot White owners, put 50 grains of powder and a patched ball in your White and watch what happens... it does a very good job. So I put maybe 45 rounds down range. It was a wonderful day to play in the snow.....

Good for you Cayugad. You get an "A" (woulda been an A+ if you had posted a picture of the White/PRB group.)

I'm leaving for the hunting lease tonight. Will be clearing a shooting lane on one of my stands Saturday morning, then shooting in the afternoon and on Sunday morning. Taking the GP flintlock and the Zouave. Next week I'll give you a report on how the LOL sight on the GP worked out on the range.

can't post pictures as the camera I have uses a serial port for downloading, and this brand new computer does not have a serial port. It has lots of USB but they do me little good. I have my brother coming up this weekend to fix that problem and put in a serial port for my camera. Then I think I will buy a new camera...

Corey - I did the same thing to my SKS.. I used a piece of glass and scraped all that horrible orange paint off it, then sanded it smooth. After that I used tung oil and finished the stock off... It turned out real good.

I have been using citristrip, pulled it off really well, and smells like OJ. they used a really good looking wood for the handguard. too many dinging one the stock.

I am putting an colonial maple stain on it.

semi: I am going to try to get to the range tomarrow. going to clear off.

I am envious!! Got to work, stopat the H>D> shop get a couple of parts for my other bad habit. Then I am taking my grandson ice fishing sun!! Maybe I'll get to shoot next wkend! trying to decide on which scope for the 21" gmb. Thinking about a weaver k2.5. Had a lot of good luck w/them in the past. Had one on the orig. mk85 that was ripped off. It shot xcellent.

CVA Mountain Stalker .50cal. 295 grain HP Powerbelt, 80 grains Pyrodex Select, CCI #11, 58 yards.
I dont like the big Williams fiberoptic sights that are on the rifle but its shooting good. I had 9 shots in the barrel from earlier today and these next 6 were all on a dirty bore.
The shots that are touching are all #2 and #3 shots.

Cabelas Hawken .50 percussion, 58 yards, 295 grain HP powerbelt, 80 grains Pyrodex Select.
Shot below the 2 that are touching is #1 on a clean bore.
Dont think there will be any need to mess with this one any longer

So far this Pyrodex Select seems to offer very good accuracy.
