Finally got dressed up warm and went out. Turned out to be a really warm day and covered in wool, you really heat up pretty fast. Not to shabby of shooting, My first 3 were with 60 grains pyro p, .015 crisco lubed ox yoke patches and a store bought .440 round ball. 75 yards. First shot just slightly missed the bullseye, Second shot was a little high and my 3ed shot i wasnt ready for, Low and to the left.

Next 3 shots were with home cast .440 round ball with one hell of a sprue left on them,.same patch and powder charge as above. Index finger is #1, Thumb is #2 and pinky is #3 shot.

Me all Pimped out,

Whoops, accidently resized the one above to small

Nice pictures...
It was sunny and warm here today although the southern end of the state is getting hammered with snow storms. I was going to shoot but saw a bad ice damn had formed on the back edge of the house. So I spent the day shoveling off the roof. Needless to say I did not get out to the range. Although I took a walk later and it was real nice in the woods.

To nice of a day so i went out and took 6 more shots. First 3 were with store bought, next 3 were with home cast. Also switched patches to prelubed .015, These loaded a little harder but they shot good. I think its a case of movement.
2 blue circles are #1 and #2 shots, Purple is #3, I forgot to push my cap down and good a hang fire. First one of the day.

Homecast, These loaded really tight with the store bought prelubed patches, Just missed the bullseye on my third shot!

Looks like it's shooting well. I'd play around with the charge a little and see what happens.
Short sleeve weather here in southern Ohio today, but they're giving a chance of snow tonight! Got hit with some hard rains & good wind gusts last night, but no damage except for a few downed tree limbs.

Nice Shooting, and I like the gear...pretty sweet.
Yes, I have been waiting for at least a decent day to go shooting, but here in southern Wisconsin its bad...The news just said they are pulling the plows off the roads because they are impassable and the national guard is on standby. I forgot I had neighbors until the wind died down for about a minute and I could see the outline of their houses...lol

This little booger has lead built up in the barrel! I just spent 10 minutes scrubbing the bore and i got quite a bit of it, but when i run dry patches and get the heat going, The patches start snagging and getting tight and they come out the color of lead! I'll pick some lead solvent up next time i am in town. There are tight tight rings in the barrel that are built up with this lead.
Darn lead conicals!
