Hello, I see you guys talking about loading your ML with up to 150 grains of T7 ffg, when the label says 100gr maximum. When I load mine with 100 grains, it baloons the 209 back out, how do you load this heavy with T7 and not have problems?
Thanks

I found 777 to be QUITE A LOT hotter than BP or Pyrodex-would NOT use 150 grains of this stuff. I have enough accuracy problems with it when using 20% less than BP with the same bullets.

I'm in total agreement with eldeguello.
150gr of 777 is WAY too much juice for all current muzzleloaders, with the Savage being the only possible exception.
Since 777 is 15 to 20% hotter than any other powder........that would would make a 150gr load of 777 the equivalent of 170 to 180gr of Blackpowder or Pyro <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>.
Such a load is gonna stress the metal of the barrel and the threads of the breech.......not to mention all of the blow-back that's gonna be flying back in your face when the cap or primer is obliterated and blown in your direction.
Using magnum 777 loads has to be about the cloest thing there is to single barrel Russian Rulette.

Trust God..........but keep your powder dry!

Echo, echo^.
If you can't do what is to be done with 80 to 100 grains of T7, don't try it. The stuff is potent and I'm surprised someone hasn't already hurt him/herself using heavy loads.

A friend of mine used 777 in his long range slug gun (300-500 yards). He said it improved his bullet groups very much. It' s also very clean. I' ve always used BP, but I may try some 777 in my hunting rifle. Maybe only 80 grains.
