I agree that most jack the price to make more money especially on sale items. I order alot from midsouth and its not nearlly as bad as midway. I would rather spend the money with local dealers but where I live there are none. Nearest wally world is an hour drive.

I'm telling you this shipping and handling BS is out of hand!! I ordered a new Ruger SR-9 from a normal supplier of mine almost every week. I was charged $40 next day air and $15 s&H charges as well!!! $55 just to get a pistol next day(ATF rules!)?
Are you sure it is ATF rules. I was told it was a rule that was started by UPS, because they(UPS) was having theft problems with pistols. I was told this charge was very similar to the "Hazardous Materials" charge that UPS decided they needed to charge. Just a way to do an additional ripoff-and driven by the ANTI-GUNNER'S.

I once took a shotgun to USPS to ship. The Post Master told me it was illegal for them to ship a firearm. I called him a liar, and asked him to show me proof that it was illegal. He could not present any proof. To make a long story short he shipped the shotgun.

I am by no means an activist, but sometimes we have to fight back. Tom.

I was going to order bulk bullets via Midway in Dec before the price increase, but when I saw the shipping I did not order. Even with the dramatic price increase, it was cheaper to go to the local Gander Mountain.
I find MidSouth Shooters Supplycheaper on shipping and bullets, also pretty fast. Chap Gleason

I think that Midway lost lots of business when they put the shipping
on their products..But I always figured it was in there anyway..If I
order anything ,from them,I order a big order at one time..Saves this
way..Not a lot but some..

I was surprised to see no one touched on ordering Powder.

Powder, Inc., is a fine business, but those Hazmat shipping fees are a KILLER.

Flat rate shipping by USPS is $8.95, 2-3 day delivery in the USA. They have two styles of boxes which are free at the post office. I call the one a cake pan box as that is the shape. The other I call a cube but they call it a shoe box. It I think is a perfict cube.
I can Getfour 3.5 pound blocks of wax in the cube, and Three 3 pound honey jars plus a one pounder.

Alleyyooper, I use the flatrate boxes when ever I can also. Some of these distributers and venders should try it out. It's just easier for them to package there orders up and have them picked up--with no savings to the customer.

Have you guys checked Midsouth? I believe base price is about $10 for UPS ground. There prices are very reasonable and usually shipping pays for itself in product savings.

The post office will come to your house to pick up Priority mail, and one rate Priority Mail.

The distributors mostly use UPS, because it is cheaper. Do you guy's honestly believe that a company like Midway pay's as much to ship a package as you do??? Shipping and Handling is a profit center for these guy's. That is plain and simple. Tom.

Shipping powder is a whole other ball game. They charge their hazmat fee which is a joke according to the drivers. Nothing different is done other then they fill out a few extra forms. Then this idea you can ship this hazmat item, but can not include this otherin the same box.

One store I was going to buy from told me that since they had to get the other powder product from different company, they had to charge me two hazmat fees. So I told them there was no sale. As that I was not paying extra for them to make a phone call and have a company send something to me...
