Here in NJ a ML needs to go through an FFL, even a lousy BB gun! As a matter of fact, when one purchases a ML or BB gun here in NJ, a NJ Firearms ID card is needed. For any ML that can be converted to a rifle(like the Encore)as well as conventional rifles and shotguns, a last minute phone call to the state police by the dealer for a $15 charge is mandatory.

Handguns involve additional paperwork plus the $15 call

I'm in NY...not that bad yet. But these kinds of issues should beof concernto all shooters/hunters.

Old/New, I use to live in NY actually Staten Island and I thought the laws were worse than NJ. LI as well NYS are not too bad yet.

They suck big time. I usually buy my long guns in PA but for hanguns I'm stuck.

killadoe, I know what you mean. I bought one used and received it and found out it was loaded still![:-] Gave it a good cleaning and it looks new.

Last I knew Michigan required the FFL to have a ML shipped to.

Yeah...not many places worse than NYC. I'm on LI. I was referring to LI & upstate. Not that bad here yet.

I've bought 7or8 muzzys from dealers and the only one that would not send to Michigan was cabela's. I bought an Apex last summer from them and they took my Michigan money but I had to have them send it to my inlaws addy in Wisconsin, which was only 9 miles away but it still was an inconvenience.
