Probably for the same reason T/Cdoesn't and won't give specifications for using Triple-7products in their ML's. When contacted about that,T/C's customer serviceclaimed they are restricted fromdiscussing or answering questionsregarding the useof Triple-7 powder. T/C has no problems discussingthe load specs forPyrodex butmention Triple-7, they will only state; "followthe manufacturers recommendations". Yea right, like the load specifications forevery ML built in the world is Hodgdon's responsibility! That is simply ridiculous. Even more ridiculous isT/C's customer service link on theirwebsite has a'FAQ' (#22) that states 3-50gr pellets of Triple-7 is acceptable inthe 'ENC-OMEGA'. How contradictory is that?
I did contactHodgdon directly about this matter. Hodgdonis awareof T/C's apparent dislike for Triple-7, don't understand the reason, andconfusedas well. Hodgdondid answer my question that T/C avoided and alsowas very informative on some other subjects that were very interesting.
By the way, onelittle nagging issue I had to resolve with my Encore.Iused high scope ringsto have adequate space between the scope and hammer spur.Even thenit can bea little difficultwhen wearing gloves. This seems to be an issue with the Encore and mostscopes. Hencethe availability of after market hammer extenders. T/C doesn't make a hammerextender and willvoid the warrantyif they see any signs that a hammer extender was used. Having an off-set hammer spur has been suggestedmany times according to T/C customer support but never implemented. Now thenew Encore Pro Hunter modelsports the 'Swing Hammer' with the spur adjustable to the left, right, or center position, the 'Speed Breech' - quick release breech plug, and includes the E-Z Tip Extractor. Took a while for T/C to realize the need. To bad these items aren't includedon all new Encore models.
I added the E-Z Tip Extractor myself and IuseMike Bellm'slatest hammer extender. This extenderhas three set screws for asecure non-slip fitto thehammer spur, made of high tensile strength aircraft aluminum, andextremely light weight. Can be mounted for either a left or right hand shooter. Presents no stress tothe hammer spur thatheavierregular blued steel or stainless steelextenders mightpossiblycreate. (T/C claimsthe weight of an extender stresses the hammer spur which could cause it tobe damaged or break off alsothe offset of an extender causes excessive frictionin the hammer assemblyor damage whenpulled back.) My Bellm extender causes none of these problems.
SO GO FIGURE......I would say T/C has just beena bit stubborn at times and a bit late introducing a fewneeded changes. Regardless, in my opinionT/Cmanufactures an excellent ML if not the best. That's my opinion and don't care to debate that with anyone. Extremely satisfied with my Encore and that's all the counts to me.
