RE: Black Powder Bullets
Heres 2 recovered powerbelts from my range. These were recovered after i shot 3 rounds. 225 grain powerbelt aerotips driven by 70 grains pyrodex P @ 58 yards. These bullets hit inside my rock cave that i shoot into. As you can see, When shooting a lower charge, these bullets mushroom like they should and will do an excellent job on game.
![]() This one lost some weight, But common! It hit solid stone with no give to it! Both of these recovered bullets were the size of quarters. ![]() Unfired powerbelt. Take notice to picture 1 and the unused powerbelt and look at the #'s on the scale. ![]() |

Again, Im just trying to help you out with using the powerbelt the proper way. http://www.powerbeltbullets.com/docs/PBB26inchballistics.pdf and all these for it ballistics, http://www.powerbeltbullets.com/ballistic.html when you know that 100g and 150g is too hard for them? My brother mailed back a fragmented PB that he found on the ground with a large buck hit at 30 yards (not recovered)and about 10 packages of the things last year, and I have read on the web of several people complaining to the company in the same manner, so they are aware of "pushing them too hard". I believe you are telling people how to use them properly by slowing the PB down, I believe I am also telling people how to usePB properly if the want to go away from the PB to another bullet. RE: Black Powder Bullets
Hey there, I am new to ML as well and have done a fair amount range work. I read the Encore like the Barnes Spit Fire 245g since they are a little smaller diameter and since the omega and encore barrels are just a little bit small then most other ML barrels the Barnes 245 g spit fire should work well for you. They have for me (omega)
Also the ever popular Shockwaves are a good back up, since T/C makes these for there guns, well actually Hornady manufactures them for T/C I think. I have yet to try the gold’s or the speed dot’s but plan to. |

Three--I want the bullet to exit. Entrance wound is small unless the bullet was to blow-up on contact--exit should be large.
Two holes-More Blood. Used the Speer 300 grain Uni-Cor SP this year on two deer: http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.co...?sku=000214485 One went 25 yards since he was going downhill and the other was boom-flop. Bullet expands very well with a muzzle velocity of 1800 plus. Details: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.a...&key= Doug ORIGINAL: gleason.chapman Amen, we have two believers. Chap Gleason |

RE: Black Powder Bullets
I was just reading through some of the newer post and see
mention of the Precision Rifle's Dead Center bullets mentioned How are they anyway..My son just got me some of them in 200 grain for my new toy when it arrives... They say they are pure lead, with a orange tip on them as well as an orange sleeve...He got them at Cabelas..They come 12 in a package.... You can find them T WWW.prbullet.com Controled expansion-for complete penetration out to 275 yards.. Anyone use them other than Stretch56??????????????? |
RE: Black Powder Bullets
Johnny, I use them exclusively now. I shoot an old knight wolverine 50 caliber with the #11 cap. I am shooting the 220 grain dead center and 80 grains of 777 ffg. I had terrible trouble with the 300 grain hornady xtp's (although I know a lot of people love them). They shot great but didn't seem to do any damage to the deer I shot. They would run forever. I was at the point of giving up ML'ing until I found the dead centers. Here are a few pics of the dead centers I have recovered from the deer I have shot, none have gone over 30-40 yards. See what you think, Greg
